SPENCER PLAZA 100 YEARS AGO
Spencer Plaza, one of the biggest shopping malls in South Asia, is located on Mount Road (officially known as Anna Salai), and is one of the landmarks of the modern Chennai, Tamil nadu.The historical roots of Spencer plaza goes back to British Period,When in the year 1863-1864, the first Departmental store in the Indian Subcontinent, established by Charles Durant and J. W. Spencer.After few years, Eugene Oakshott shifted the departmental store to a new building, which was an example of Indian Indo- Saracenic style of architecture. The building was designed by W. N. Pogson. In the year 1983, the original building was destroyed in a fire. The present Spencer Plaza was constructed on the same site.It now comprises 3 phases.This shopping mall is the major hang out for people of Chennai .

The shooting for Ajith's 'Billa’ is over. The good news for Ajith-fans is that, the movie will hit the screens on 30 November. The movie, a remake of yesteryear Rajnikanth hit, was initially slated for release on Deepavali day. However for reasons unknown its release for postponed.

A R Rahman has announced his willingness to join with UN and Endemol Productions, a production company working for a new Hindi television channel, to launch a show called Mission Ustaad. This will be an enlightening musical show to be launched on channel 9x which is planning to go on air by November.
